Provisional Driving License
If you are 17 years and 6 months or older, you are eligible to apply for a Provisional Driving License in Cyprus.
This license allows you to begin taking driving lessons and book your official practical driving test.
The provisional license exam is a verbal test that assesses your knowledge of:
- Road signs
- Traffic signals
- General traffic code and rules in Cyprus
The exam is conducted at the Road Transport Department in each city and can be taken in either Greek or English.

Power: (125cc) or up to 11 KW


Motorcycle
Category A2
Age: 20 y/o + category A1 at least 2 years
Power: 400cc or Up to 35 KW
Motorcycle

24 years old
7 hours of training
Full category A1 license
Power: No Limit

Basic Handling and Control

- Clutch control and smooth gear shifting

- Emergency braking and stopping distances
Maneuvering Exercises
- Figure 8s, slaloms, and tight turns
- Obstacle avoidance
- Controlled acceleration and deceleration
- Riding in confined areas (low-speed precision control)
On-Road Practice
- Entering and exiting on road
- Lane positioning and mirror checks
- Navigating traffic, intersections, and overtaking safely
- Uphill riding
Preparation for Official Exam
- Mock tests based on the official A1 / A2 / A category exam
- Tips for passing both the technical and on-road assessments
- Practice with the exact maneuvers required during the real test
